Digital, resilient, collaborative — the procurement of tomorrow starts today. For the seventh year in a row, the Procurement Barometer provides in-depth insights into the strategic agenda of procurement leaders across Europe — this year as a special anniversary edition marking Onventis’ 25th year. In collaboration with BME and ESB Business School, the latest edition highlights the role of procurement in a dynamic market shaped by geopolitical risks, regulatory pressures, and growing sustainability demands.
At the heart of this year’s edition: supplier management as a key driver of resilience and innovation. The study reveals that companies leveraging digital platforms, real-time data, and structured collaboration not only enhance efficiency but also strengthen their long-term competitiveness. Insights from more than 350 decision-makers make it clear that resilience is built proactively — through connected processes, automation, AI, and sustainable partnerships.
The 2025 Procurement Barometer provides:
- Concrete insights into current digitalization levels and needs
- Facts and trends on AI, automation, and ESG
- Actionable recommendations for building more resilient supply chains
- Benchmarks for supplier collaboration and risk management
This is the second year in a row that I managed the Procurement Barometer. This project had me designing a survey and working with partners to get a record number of survey participants.
My team of a copywriter, a designer, a design student, and myself, were able to launch the survey in January which meant the study was complete in May. Having it complete so early in the year has enabled us to gather 40% more leads than last year (as of October).
